Allocate Educational Resources Effectively
Goals set based on the Early Years Evaluation – Teacher Assessment (EYE-TA) typically refer to a reduction of vulnerability over the course of a school year or the attainment of a long-term target. Districts can use within-school interventions in the majority of schools, and potentially a whole-school interventions in a small set of ‘vulnerable’ schools; that is, those with a high prevalence of vulnerable children.
For example, a common goal is to increase the percentage of children who have strong pre-literacy skills when they enter 1st grade. One way to do this is to use the EYE-100 Domain Strengthening Learning Activities in all schools in a district, as the activities are designed to strengthen the pre-literacy skills for all children.
A whole-school approach to goal setting would be to identify schools with at least 75% of its children who are vulnerable and to apply a whole-school intervention, such as Confident Learners.
