Nurture Early Reading Readiness
Early Years Evaluation - Pre-Reading Assessment (EYE-PR)
The needs of early years educators have recently evolved as changes to kindergarten curricula and quality and effectiveness of early reading programs have intensified. In response to these changes, The Learning Bar now offers a new assessment to schools and districts using the EYE-TA: the Early Years Evaluation – Pre–Reading Assessment (EYE-PR). This assessment pinpoints fundamental pre-reading and phonics-based skills, providing educators with data to help tailor their teaching strategies to each child’s unique development stage, effectively ensuring a more inclusive approach.
Short Assessment, Actionable Data
The EYE-PR takes 15-20 minutes to complete and is available for all kindergarten children or can be focused on specific groups. It includes aligned resources and activities, helping educators to understand exactly where to focus their time and energy and tailor their teaching strategies. Further resources are also available for caregivers to support their child’s learning at home.
This structured and systematic assessment measures ten essential prerequisite skills for learning to read.
