The Learning Bar is looking for a Senior Sales Director reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
THE POSITION
The Senior Sales Director will help scale the business by doubling The Learning Bar’s revenues, as
the organization strives to reach 2 million children by 2025. The most senior member of a small
sales team, this role is accountable and responsible for sales planning, business development, and
driving sales results for the company. Most aptly defined as a ‘player-coach’, this role is responsible
for meeting personal sales targets, while also coaching the sales team in their growth. This newly
created role will appeal to seasoned sales professionals who have the desire to grow the company,
coach a growing sales team, and establish proven sales systems and processes. The successful
candidate will manage the full-cycle sales process and close deals within their respective geographic
territories, with the ability to travel within Canada, the US, and internationally, as required.
Daily activities are varied, and include:
- Building an energized and winning sales culture and collaborating effectively with key players.
- Focusing on motivating and inspiring your team, leveraging everyone’s strengths and developing individuals into strong performers.
- When necessary, you will help your staff deal with prospects’ pain points and help them overcome obstacles to closing a deal.
- Seeking opportunities to expand sales across products, and across territories, while continuing to grow a healthy pipeline.
- Because you are accountable for meeting or exceeding sales targets, you focus on implementing and contributing to the ongoing development of The Learning Bar’s sales plan.
- Developing strong territory and account plans with sales and profits goals in line with the organization’s strategic plan.
- Seeking information gathered by Client Success, collaborate with Marketing, and strategizing with others while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, motivation, and success.
- Collaborating with Marketing on lead generation projects to ensure lead campaigns are prioritized and aligned with sales targets. This will ensure there is strong alignment, and that Marketing is able to support sales efforts in targeted regions and specific audiences.
- Recognizing the importance of the balance of long-term relationship-building, branding, sales and marketing initiatives as well as immediate revenue generation campaigns.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You have a diploma from an accredited university or college in marketing, business administration, or a relevant field.
- You are a sales leader with over 10-12 years progressive sales experience with minimum of 5 years of mentoring and managing a sales team.
- Challenges excite you! You have a solid track record of growing sales and getting great results.
- You come to this role with maturity and a desire to make a difference.
- You are flexible, enthusiastic, and have a strong aptitude for technology, account management and CRMs. You have an understanding of how to effectively plan and grow key accounts and are able to mentor others as they develop these skills.
- You are self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills, and you work well with others.
- You are well organized.
- You will be given preference if you have US/international sales experience, or experience within the Education or EdTech industry.
- You have a valid passport and driver’s license, and the ability and willingness to travel.
- The successful candidate is required to provide a criminal record check.
