You will also apply your big picture thinking around the architecture and design of systems.

Reporting directly to the CTO, you will be the authoritative voice of all things related to full stack web applications using various technology stacks including Java, PHP, Python and Javascript (Angular). Naturally, you will audit existing code for quality, provide technical support and direction to a team of developers who maintain our complex web applications. Using your experience, you can identify where in the code the best ROI for improvements is and the best approach to get results. Best of all, in this role, you will have the opportunity to work with many other amazing people toward the common goal of solving meaningful problems!

Your primary duties will focus on ensuring projects undertaken by the development team are aligned with the product roadmap, and you will ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.

The Ideal Candidate

This position will be of interest to those who have been programming for at least 5 years and seek opportunities to demonstrate your strong technical leadership abilities. You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. You have demonstrated exceptional technical skills as a full stack developer and can write code in 1 or more modern programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript).  Your previous experiences include leading and mentoring other developers using Agile methodology; using cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure; and you are comfortable using modern web development technologies and frameworks, such as Spring, React, and Angular. Your experience designing and managing databases (including SQL and NoSQL) has prepared you for this role. Ideally, you have an interest and some knowledge of the public education sector, and the technology that supports it. You thrive in a workplace where diversity and positive change are a constant.
