Quality education should be a right for all children

Recent events in Canada, in the US and around the world have brought the issues of race, injustice and inequality to the forefront of our society.   The loss of precious lives is devastating and serves as a reminder of the injustice that is still occurring in our world today. As an organization we are committed to continuing to listen, learn and to lead responsibly and with compassion.

Since our very beginning 15 years ago, The Learning Bar was founded on the premise that all children have the right to a quality education regardless of race or ethnicity. Our work enables us to work in partnership with students, educators, and families across all social class spectrums and from hundreds of different ethnicities. We have a deep respect for the communities with whom we work. It is through these close relationships that we are able to ensure that our solutions reflect the needs of children and also help identify societal, economic, physical barriers, or cultural conditions that limit a childs’ opportunities, freedoms and dignity.

The Learning Bar will strive to be a role model of how an inclusive company should act.  We believe in the power of education in moving the world forward. We must all stand together, care for one another, commit to being part of the solution and make progressive change happen for Black, Native American and People of Colour. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to thrive.

We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skin, but we all belong to one human race. – Kofi Annan, seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.
